The Connectivity page displays the communication status of your device with several services required for it to operate.
Each service is accompanied by a circular icon:
- Green: Service accessible / communication OK
- Red: Service inaccessible / communication KO
This page is mainly intended for your IT team so they can quickly diagnose a network issue. It may take up to a few minutes for all the indicators to turn green after (re)connecting to an internet network.
Some services handle direct communication with the production monitoring web platform: Keyprod, also referred to as KPW in this article.
Accessing the page
From your device's screen:
- Go to the left-hand side menu and click the Settings icon (the gear icon at the bottom)
- Then click the Connectivity icon (the globe at the bottom)
Interpreting the information
When a service switches to KO, an information button appears to the right of the row. Clicking it opens a window with an informational message.
To switch from KO to OK, IT generally needs to authorize the network destination shown (url + port)
The information shown in this Information button is therefore what you need to provide to your IT team: it precisely identifies the problem and its solution.
Description of each service's role
NTP server
The NTP service allows the device to automatically synchronize the time. Correct time is essential to ensure reliable timestamps and the proper functioning of certain secure communications.
If your IT team uses an internal or custom NTP server, check that it is correctly configured in the web configuration interface.
Update service
The update service allows the device to perform system and application updates.
IoT Activity
The IoT Activity service allows the device to report activity from your machine to your Keyprod platform.
KPW Endpoint aka KPW Termination
The KPW Endpoint service is the network entry point used to establish exchanges between your device and your Keyprod platform.
KP Cloud
The KP Cloud service corresponds to the overall communication between your device and your Keyprod cloud. It generally depends on the availability of the network services listed above.
KPW Communication
The KPW Communication service corresponds to the application-level exchange between your device and your Keyprod platform (beyond simple network access). It requires both that the KPW Endpoint service be accessible and that your device be properly assigned to a machine on your Keyprod platform.
