If you are using KEYVIBE with software version 3.2.3 or higher, you have the option to configure a static IP address for the WiFi card. This feature is especially useful for businesses that want to maintain precise control over their network connections.
Steps to Configure a Static IP
-
Connect the Network Cable: To configure the static IP, you need to connect a network cable between your computer and the KeyVibe box. This physical connection is essential to access the settings of the WiFi card.
-
Access the Settings: Once the network cable is connected, access the KeyVibe management interface via a web browser at the address: 10.10.10.1.
-
If the box has never been configured, you will arrive at the configuration wizard at step 1.
-
Enter the SSID (WiFi network name) and the associated password.
-
To the right of "Advanced Configuration," click
to expand the hidden options, then fill in the three required fields:
-
IP: The IP address should be in decimal format with four numbers separated by periods. Example: 192.168.1.199 followed by the network mask in decimal format (CIDR notation).
CIDR Notation Subnet Mask Number of Host Addresses /24 255.255.255.0 Approximately 254 /16 255.255.0.0 Approximately 65,534 /8 255.0.0.0 Approximately 16,777,214
- Validation and Saving: It is important to fill in all the fields, such as the SSID, password, and the three advanced configuration parameters, then click to save.
Advantages of Static IP
- Stability: A static IP ensures that your KeyVibe retains the same IP address, making it easier to manage and monitor.
- Security: By using a static IP, you can restrict access to your KeyVibe to only authorized IP addresses.
- Compatibility with Other Services: Some services and applications require a static IP to function correctly. You will be ready to use them without any issues.
